Start There

Well I admit things ain’t gone straight to the plan
I found the only way to learn is to learn firsthand
And for all these years, I don’t have much to show
But it’s never too late to change the status quo

There are days when I just don’t care
If the whole wide world thinks I don’t compare
Cuz I got my name and I got my prayer
So I guess I’ll just start there

Who said being broke was all that bad?
I still got everything I need so I ain’t mad
And the way I see it, it’s better off this way
It’ll make it that much sweeter when I’m rich someday

There are days when I just don’t care
If the whole wide world thinks I don’t compare
Cuz I got my name and I got my prayer
So I guess I’ll just start there

You gotta start somewhere
You gotta start somewhere
I guess I’ll just start there
You gotta start somewhere
You gotta start somewhere

Another night, another dingy bar
Where the local drunk gets on like a superstar
Hey, at least they’re playing a damn good song
Make me another drink, I’ma sing along

There are days when I just don’t care
If the whole wide world thinks I don’t compare
Cuz I got my name and I got my prayer
So I guess I’ll just start there
Ooh I guess I’ll just start there
I guess I’ll just start there
